What does Claude cost in Australia?
Anthropic prices Claude in US dollars, so the Australian cost depends on the exchange rate and your card's international fee. As at 26 August 2026, Claude Pro is US$20 a month — about A$28, or roughly A$29 once a typical 3 per cent card fee is added. Team seats start at US$20 per seat per month billed annually, about A$28. Max starts at US$100 a month, about A$140. Enterprise is quoted per seat plus usage at API rates. Prices exclude tax and change at Anthropic's discretion, so treat any AUD figure as a snapshot with a date on it.

The plan matters less than most buyers expect. Every paid tier includes Claude Cowork and Claude Code; what changes is how much you can run before the allowance bites, and whether you get shared projects, central billing and governance. Start lower than you think and move up when something actually stops you. What Australian businesses should know before buying
- There is no Australian data residency for Claude subscriptions. Prompts and granted files are processed on Anthropic’s infrastructure. API-level AU residency exists through AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex and Microsoft Foundry, but that is a different product and a different build. If you sit under an audit obligation, decide this before you grant any business folders.
- Training on your data differs by plan. On Team and Enterprise, Anthropic does not train its models on your data by default. On Pro and Max you can opt out in settings. Check the setting rather than assuming the default.
- The licence is rarely the real cost. A$28 a seat is not what makes an AI rollout succeed or fail. The cost that matters is the time to get one workflow genuinely working, which is why we sell a fixed-fee Cowork setup rather than seats.

Enterprise adds SSO, domain capture, audit logging, central user management and expanded context over Team. Anthropic publishes a self-serve tier at US$20 per seat plus usage at API rates; larger deployments are sales-assisted and quoted rather than listed. The practical trigger for Enterprise is a governance requirement — a security review, an audit obligation, or a policy that says who may use what — rather than a headcount number.
Is Claude Cowork included in the Claude subscription?
Yes. Cowork is included on Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise rather than sold separately, so the cost is the plan cost. What varies is usage rather than licence: long agent runs consume more of your plan allowance than chat does, which is the usual reason someone moves from Pro to Max.
Do Claude prices include GST for Australian customers?
Anthropic states that the prices it publishes exclude applicable tax. We are not going to assert how GST lands on your particular invoice — check the invoice itself, or ask your accountant, rather than trusting a figure on someone else’s website.
